my mother

would change

the program

with a remote

and start to

talk to grandma

on Italian

When they both

change to

that other

language

unknown

to us kids

I knew that

something

serious is

going on

that they

discuss

something

not at all

naive

I never

asked them

what they

talked about

maybe I feel

fear now

when I know

what is

economic

instability

responsibility

and death
