Urban exploration

Urban Exploration is photo-exploration of  ruined industry complexes in Ex-Yu countries Serbia and Croatia. In search of scenogrpahies and aesthetics of decay, details and micro narration, for the scene which tell the most while empty. But they are not empty of the meaning, of the past forgoten and future unknown. Some of these buildings are industrial heritage, some are not. Some are empty, some in process of reuse, some are torn down. They exist in here, in frozen moments, cause even if the buildings still exist, the details and atmosphere maybe not be the same. This is a map for you to further research the stories of this spaces, on your own. If not, explore the visuality of the highly defined technical spaces without usage.

Presented on photographers night Periskop 009 in Community Center in China Quarter, Novi Sad, Serbia.  China Quarter is ex-factory complex, was used by mechanics and music ventures. Community center was grass-root initiative for alternative cultural center. The squatted building was torn down, in the process of gentrification of this part of the town. In this process also mechanics are moved away. Some club remain on spot. The Quarter is now under reconstruction.

It was important for me, while China Quarter was in former state, to show this pictures on photographers night at that time in current context.
